Mission Playground

mission playground

The birds are chirping and the trees are budding… warmer weather should be here before we know it. This means moving hoodies and sweaters to the back of the closet and bringing t-shirts and other short sleeves to the front.

One of my favorite t-shirts that I own is this one from Mission Playground. In addition to sending an environmental message and being 100% organic cotton, it is super soft and longer than most t-shirts so the fit is extra comfortable. If you are looking for some new t-shirts this spring, I definitely recommend checking out Mission Playground.

Paws & Think & Taste

I first became involved in Paws & Think last year around this time and since then, have increased my involvement through volunteering and also by joining the tech team. I could go on and on about how great I think this organization is, but if you would like to learn more about it from board members and other volunteers, I highly recommend going to the the 5th Annual Wine Tasting event on April 28 at Noodles & Company. Visit the Paws & Think web site to learn more about the event.

SwitchGears and Switching Gears

They say variety is the spice of life and one of the things I love about what I do is the opportunity I have to work with such a variety of clients. In the past few months, I have launched some sites that reflect how wide this range sometimes stretches. From SwitchGear Genomics to Advanced Biological Marketing to 41 Sports Fitness Boot Camps to RightofPublicity.com — all of them keep my job exciting and educational.

Farewell Domino

This past weekend, I received the last issue of Domino. Sadly, the magazine is closing its doors. I have been a subscriber since the first issue, and will miss flipping through it each month and finding inspiration for our home.

Month at a Glance

I love my planner from Jill Bliss, but when I needed to know quickly what day a specific date falls on in the upcoming months, I didn’t have a quick reference available. That is, until I found this lovely letterpress calendar on Etsy. Printed on 100% post consumer recycled paper, this is perfect for above my new desk in our redone office (seen here). The calendar also includes this cute little message at the top: “Things will be fine in 2009.” A perfect mantra to accompany this poster.

Measuring Sticks

We woke up this morning to a white world outside and by noon, the news reported that we have received almost a foot of snow. Times like these, I am very thankful for my very short commute.

Granting a Clearwish

Clearwish Giveaway

Another fun project that I have been working on lately is for my friend Brian and his start-up company, Clearwish. The idea behind Clearwish is that it “allows a user to create, grow and share their wish lists with family and friends”. However, when the company itself was wishing for a logo and corresponding web site, Brian came to me. I designed both the logo and the web site and then passed along the HTML and CSS to their programmer who built the rest.

Clearwish is free and compatible with such social networking giants as Facebook. And now’s the best time to start wishing, because they just announced their Winter Giveaway, where one lucky person’s wish will be granted. So go ahead, make a wish.

Photog Blog

Photos by Jennifer Blog

In the past few months, I’ve had the pleasure of working with the wonderful and talented Jennifer Driscoll, a photographer in Fishers. In December, her new blog (which I both designed and developed) was launched. I also worked with her to design an e-newsletter template that she can use when communicating with past and future clients. Both the blog and the e-newsletter designs were based off her new site which was designed and developed by Cambridge Omnimedia in California. So whether you are looking for a photographer, or just some visual inspiration, you should definitely check out Jennifer Driscoll!

And speaking of photographers, don’t forget to check out my sister-in-law’s web site, Allison Wonderlands (another site I designed and developed). With two young boys, it is no surprise that Allison is great at capturing children in their element!

Note: I want to also give credit to Ryan from PixoPoint for the great plugin he developed that made the navigation on Jennifer’s blog possible.
